The newest member of the Knight family - which I had the pleasure of being introduced to last weekend. This is Abby who I believe is about 4 months old now. Congratulations to Mark and Helen on such a little bundle of cuteness! :)

This was taken today at Bolton Abbey. The ducks were pretty active, cleaning themselves and chasing each other - I was fortunate enough to catch this female as she rose up to shake the water off her feathers. I have a few images i'm happy with from the trip out - should be really and I took nearly 7gb!

I'd have liked to have shown you the original of this shot, but unfortunately I no longer have access to the server to upload directly. I might be able to find another way of doing it, and if so i'll edit this post - but for now I can just explain the post-processing. I ran the image through my lomo effect action, then added an overlay layer with gaussian blur on it.

I'll be interested to hear your thoughts - might be a marmite shot.

This was shot yesterday morning (too early for me on a saturday I discovered!), looking across the River Calder here in Huddersfield.

I took several of this scene from various heights, angles and a mix of portrait and landscape - and I think this is my favourite of them. I have warmed up the shot a little more, but aside from that there is no post-processing.

On a plus note - it looks like spam assassin is working fantastically! :)

Taken today in Judy Woods, not far from where I live. I was hoping the leaves would have coloured a little more than they had - but nevermind. I managed to get a few decent shots, which I didn't expect whilst I was taking them. I felt in a pretty uninspired mood, so it was a nice suprise.

I loved the roots and texture on this tree - could have photographed it all day!

Stupid stupid stupid spam. I went back to my previous entry and deleted the 5/6 spam comments there were - then was suddenly hit by 25 in a row at the same time *sigh*

I feel i'm losing a neverending battle.

This was taken at the weekend, when down in Lincoln visiting family. I personally really like the colours and contrast, but the swan being central in the frame i'm undecided about. I'll be interested to hear your thoughts - and thank you for the welcome backs!

I should also add this was shot with my new 50mm f1.4 lens - kindly bought by my other half for me <3

Another from my trip out with Dave - as you can probably see i'm milking the archive for all its worth! I don't often have time to go out these days and get new shots due to how much overtime I generally have to do at work. Thankfully i'm finding that even though i'm working in a studio every day - I havn't lost my passion for personal photography in my spare time, which is something that has happened to a lot of photographers I know.

This was shot (as the title suggests) along central pier looking at north pier - HDR combined in Photomatix from 3 exposures.

Shot from the walkway which the graffiti shot (previous entry) was taken along - looking down over a short line of taxi's. The reflections in the cabs stood out for me in this shot - which I why I processed it the way I did. Adding a little more contrast, and desaturating most of it.

Hopefully today I will be able to sort out the comments for here - get them re-enabled, and hope the spambots are not still trolling :)

On the same theme as Dave's shot today - they were shot in the same place afterall. The walls down this walkway in blackpool have a fairly big array of graffiti along them - some more pronounced than others.

This was post-processed using the lomo effect.

Comments as ever to be emailed - and thanks to those who have emailed saying they are glad i'm posting on here again. It means a lot :)

Donkeys on the beach at Blackpool - they looked pretty cold and not very happy really.

This was post-processed using a colour + black and white layer, which were merged using layer styles.

This was combined in Photomatix from 3 exposure shots - and yes that is Dave in the foreground looking like he knows what he's doing ;)

An update? Surely not!

Yes it is - and purely for the fact I got to trundle around Blackpool with Mr Dave from Chromasia today. I'm taking his advice and trying to pop a few pictures up on here just to keep the site rolling until I can either a) sort out the comment spam, or b) migrate it to a new version. Thanks to the few people who emailed me to say they miss it, and keep checking to see if i've updated it - you are very loyal fans ;)

This is one of the side-streets we came upon during our wandering, and its HDR taken from 3 exposures.

This is really a post to just let people know that i'm very apologetic shutterjunkie hasn't been updated for ages, but given my current circumstances i'm looking to move it to another server with a different set of code. I'm currently trying pixelpost (instead of my current custom setup), but after speaking to Dave @ Chromasia, I may also try moveable type before making my decision. The main reason is spam. The spam comments on here were removed kindly by Jon, and there were 1000s of them. They were also getting through a custom spam filter, which made things even more irritating. From what Dave has told me, moveable type has a good spam filter, and from what i've seen so far in the backend of pixelpost - it looks like it does too.

The main problem with moving a website like this is all the entries I have up to press. If I can convert the database to work with the new blogging software, then fantastic - but I think the chances of this are slim. Please bear with me - and I hope I can get this all sorted and running soon!

As for this shot: Taken in Blackpool, and I added the 'acidic' photoshop filter to it.

I have decided that instead of not posting anything due to no new material, I will dig through the archives as much as I want to at least post something new to viewers on here.

As i'm sure is evident now - the comments system is down due to the 1000s of pages of spam that clocked up in the admin side - and i'm currently not sure when they will be re-enabled.

This.. as the title suggests.. is The Strip in Las Vegas, as taken last September whilst I was there - and was shot from the bridge going from the MGM grand and another hotel to the left.

Well its snowing outside today, but really not enough to go out and get some good snow photos. There is only a think covering on the ground - so hopefully it'll carry on and I might get a chance to go out tomorrow!

I shot this earlier on today after coming back from my job interview - i'm amazed they're still alive and kicking as i've had them for nearly 2 weeks!

I had a colour version too, but I prefered the softness and hue of this one.

First of all - apologies for the post that resided here previously just over a week ago. I got a few emails from concerned people, and i'd like to say thank you and i'm sorry it shouldn't happen again.

I bought some flash equipment just before christmas.. the little home studio Interfit pack that warehouseexpress sell, and had a play back then but had to send them back because one of the heads was faulty and I actually only got around to unpacking the replacements a few days ago to take some photos for ebay (erk I know).

Anyway, as I have a few jobs coming up for weddings this spring and a ball in february I figured I really needed to get back into portrait work, so I had a play around and this is probably my favourite from the set with the best looking edit work.

This shot I took around the christmas period and it was merely a snap shot - but when I post-processed it with one of the new filters i'd downloaded, it really made it come to life. I feel its also got a very Martin Parr feel to it, hence the title.

This is my grandad in his chair watching TV, and Jess the dog on the left.
